ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The University Grants Commission (UGC) launched a scheme for skills development based higher education as a part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple entry and exit points.This would enable the graduates completing B. Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.
Tourism and Hotel management is a vast industry with many different career paths. Students seeking a degree in Tourism and Hotel management are prepared to enter nearly any segment of the industry, such as lodging, hotels, restaurants, casino, cruise line operations, resorts and spas, event management, or airline catering. Students are provided the knowledge and competences needed to successfully manage a restaurant, hotel, or an independently-owned hospitality or tourism business.
The Department of Tourism & Hotel Management is there to enhance knowledge, skills and practical experiences to prepare quality professionals for the Tourism & Hotel Industry.

3 Year Bachelor Degree in Vocation (B.Voc.) in Tourism & Hotel Management sponsored by NSQF, UGC (Affiliated to University of Calcutta and Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council New Delhi).

ACTIVITIES
- We impart necessary skills to the studentsthroughboth theory and practical classes. Special assignments and tasks related to the field are given to the students to give them an off-the-job experience of the industry.
- We also conduct Personality Development Programmes, Group Discussions, Seminars and Workshops to give the students a hint about the industry.
- The curriculum also involves On the Job Training in every semester which help the students to have a practical experience in the industry.
