Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

The Gender Sensitization Cell under IQAC of  Serampore  College was formed in June 2016 to look after the harassment in college campus against the girl students of the college. The cell received the complaints of the girl students’ related harassment and tried to find out the solutions of the problems. The cell organised a seminar along with a awareness program in 2017 to discuss the nature of sexual harassment and abusive behaviour against girl students.

The Gender Sensitization Cell was renamed and reconstituted in July, 2017 as Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) according to the UGC regulations 2015 to address the issues of prevention, prohibitions, and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions. ICC along with the UGC recommended members is successfully working with the complaints of women employees and students. Several meetings of ICC have already been convened as per requirement and the committee helps the College administration by sending the relevant reports time to time. The committee is very much active and is absolutely involved with the problems of the female students and employees.. The committee is trying to maintain a peaceful and healthy atmosphere in the campus  with the conviction of ensuring zero tolerance to the harassment of women of the institution.
