Message of the H. O. D
We have five full time teachers. The student strength of each honours class is 44. In spite of all the limitations for being located in a suburb, the consistent and brilliant results of our students have made us proud, e.g. this year the final university results of our students have lifted our department to the status of one of the best one in Calcutta University. The teachers of our department are very much active to introduce up-to-date teaching methods. The Bengali Department. wants to inculcate a love for literature in the students and does not believe in mechanical teaching and rote learning. We believe in interactive classroom teaching. We organise significant state level ,national and international seminars and workshops, academic excursions to places of literary importance regularly for the last ten years. The department also carries out faculty exchange programmes with several colleges.
