Academic Exhibition 2020
Short Report on Academic exhibition 2020
The Academic Exhibition 2020 was held in the month of February 2020 from 17th to 19th February with great fanfare. This year it was open to Faculty of Humanities and Arts along with Science and Commerce. This increased the hustle bustle manifold. Theology students also participated actively. The different clubs and cells of our College were also a part of this. Students of nearby schools and colleges also took part in displaying their exhibits and models. The whole hearted participation of students added spark to the exhibition. The stalls were allotted in the main building and some had to set up in the ground. The prize distribution was scheduled on 20th February. The college wore a majestic look on those days.
Our Principal, Dr. Vansanglura inaugurated the exhibition on 17th February ,Monday. The exhibition was open for the public from then till 6pm in the evening. On the same evening, Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Minister in charge of Higher Education unveiled the busts of William Carey, Joshua Marshman and William Ward in front of CLRC. This was followed by a short entertaining cultural programme and concluded with his speech.
On 18th February, the models and exhibits prepared by the students were evaluated. Judges for humanities and arts, science and commerce streams visited the stalls and interacted with the students. Once the evaluation process was over, the stalls were open to public till 6 pm.
On 19th February, there was a special invited lecture on “Reason and Religion as taught by Swami Vivekananda” by Swami Atmapriyananadji from 11am. It was an enthralling session. On the concluding day, there was a steady stream of visitors for which the time of the exhibition had to be extended till 7pm. This exhibition is a much awaited event for the local people.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on 20th February. It was an event of the students, by the students and for the students. They passionately worked on sets of ideas, worked as a team , deliberated on those and delivered. Each of them is a winner.Of course, the College administration extended a helping hand without which the event could not have been a successful one.
Looking forward to the next Academic Exhibition!

The aim of the workshop is to understand urban environmental problems particularly in relation to biodiversity and natural resource management. We also aim to discuss the catalysing forces behind urban changes in the biodiversity and the conflicts between various socio-economic strata of society in relation to this. The prime question is – Can sustainability be achieved via urban, ecological and economic planning?

The fair and the workshop will be relevant and engrossing by participation from diverse groups of participants, right from tiny tots to social entrepreneurs. The carefully curated and captioned photography exhibition will share with the visitors some of the finest moments in the wilderness and urban environment, captured by professional and budding photographers.
The program shall involve Drawing competition, Debate, Photographic competition, Film shows (on United Nation themes), Quiz for the school students as well as Lectures, Workshops: classroom and field session for the teachers (school and colleges), students (Colleges: UG and PG) and research scholars.
