Cine and Drama Club

We thought of initiating this Club in order to enhance the awareness of our pupils regarding societal happenings and also to polish their co-curricular activities.

on 20th September 2016, famous film director Kamaleswar Mukherjee inaugurated this Club. Afterwards, we have also organised various workshops with a bunch of enthusiastic students.

The students who also happen to be the members of this club, have performed two plays,self scripted and self directed, at the Teacher’s day celebration and Vasontsav of our College.

We have also attempted to spread a sense of social awareness through our issue based street plays by performing them in slum areas.

Some of the student-members of this Club who are the most talented ones of the lot have also got breaks in Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s film Mukhomukhi.

Not to exclude,some of the members of the Cine and Drama Club are also performing in Arshinagar, a play by Dhrupad, one of the leading names in group theater.

We have also plans of spreading awareness among common people about the Transgenders by scripting a play-performance on them.

Besides the present students,ex-students too are active members of this Club.On the third Saturday of each month,we arrange for the broadcasting of famous films and right after it we arrange for panel discussions on those films.

Members of the Cine and Drama Club also provided a very colourful presentation on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the Bicentinary celebration on 20th November 2017 in front of the Higher Education Minister and other dignitaries.This performance was highly appreciated by all those who were present on that day.
